Finding the beauty around me

This website is made for the lovers of nature, adventure, colour and life. It is my utmost wish to share the beauty I see in the world around me with people like you. I hope you will see and feel what I had seen and felt when I made these paintings. I wish you enjoyable browsing and happy moments while strolling from one painting to another. If you enjoy looking at these paintings as much as I enjoyed making them, for me, that would be a success.

Who am I? I am an artist with many years of experience who opened up with her work in recent years. I have exhibited my work locally in few group and solo exhibitions and my art is owned by many collectors around the globe. I’ve been a member of Burnaby Artists’ Guild since October 2021 and an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists since October 2022.

I live in Burnaby, British Columbia. The vast and colourful heritage of my old European homeland gave me the basis of who I am today and living in North America has enriched my vision. Each and every corner of this bountiful West Coast and its vivid nature inspires me daily.

I love colours and the effect they have on our emotions. When I see a colour, I feel it with all my senses. My goal as an artist is to tell you what I see and feel through paint. I use acrylic and oil as mediums and express myself through a style that stems from my love for impressionism and an awe for the old school masters.

As an artist who enjoys painting, I also have affinity for other avenues like poetry and prose, photography and others. My background is in engineering. I perceive these different interests not only as related but also as highly connected in the deepest sense.

I paint what I see in my surroundings. There are magnificent, colourful city parks all around me. When I don’t have time to visit even more stunning provincial parks, a stroll through a local one is all I need. In addition, I treasure photographs from past travels and enjoy recalling my trips through paint.

I started painting a long time ago when I was very young. I recall being gifted a box of watercolours. There was a paper in front of me and I jumped to it right away. I remember my belief that I just needed to masterfully wave the brush a few times and something amazing like the Mona Lisa would surely show up. It didn’t go exactly as planned. Hours later, when three quarters of all the paint ended up on me, the finished paper did look like something. I proudly announced to the world that the painting was done! I painted a grouse - or to me, it kinda looked like one.

Many years have passed since then, yet those first feeble attempts have taught me that there was so much to learn, and that’s what I have been doing ever since.

Today, I paint because I love the challenge of learning something new and making every painting better than the last one. Luckily, art is such a vast area that no matter how much I have learned, there is always something else around the corner waiting for me to grasp it. I enjoy this lively journey and I am so happy to have art in my life, and if you can find in my paintings even a part of beauty, joy, sensitivity or emotions that I was trying to convey to canvas, I will consider myself successful.
